On September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked the World Trade Center in New York City. Three airplanes crashed into the buildings, causing them to collapse and killing thousands of people. The attacks were the deadliest terrorist attack in history.
Remember and Learn
Today, there is a memorial at the site of the World Trade Center called Ground Zero. Visitors come from all over the world to remember the victims and learn about the attacks. The September 11 attacks are a reminder of the importance of peace and security.
Teaching Kids About 911
It is important to teach kids about the September 11 attacks in an age-appropriate way. Explain that 911 is a number you call in an emergency, and that the September 11 attacks were a tragic event. Answer any questions they may have and help them understand that we all need to work together to prevent future attacks.
