How to Remove Acrylic Nails at Home Step by Step
For Those Who Prefer the Soaking Method
Materials You'll Need:
* 100% pure acetone (available at beauty supply stores) * Cotton balls * Aluminum foil * Nail file * Cuticle pusher (optional) * Buffer (optional)Instructions:
Step 1: Shorten the Acrylics
Use a nail file to carefully file down the acrylics to a shorter length. This will make them easier to remove.
Step 2: Soak Your Nails
Saturate a cotton ball with 100% pure acetone. Place the cotton ball on your nail and wrap it securely with aluminum foil. This will create a seal and help the acetone penetrate the acrylic.
Step 3: Wait
Allow the acetone to soak for 15-20 minutes. You may experience a slight tingling sensation as the acrylic dissolves.
Step 4: Remove the Foil and Cotton Balls
Once the soaking time is complete, carefully remove the foil and cotton balls. The acrylic should be softened and easier to remove.
Step 5: Push Off the Acrylic
Using a cuticle pusher or the pointed end of an orange stick, gently push off the softened acrylic from your nails. Be careful not to damage your natural nails.
Step 6: Buff and Clean
Use a buffer to smooth out any rough edges or remaining acrylic residue. Clean your nails thoroughly with nail polish remover to remove any remaining acetone.
